Washington – Congressman Steve Israel (NY-03) released the following statement after the terrorist attacks in Paris, France.
“Today, and in the weeks and months ahead, we stand shoulder to shoulder with the people of Paris. New Yorkers especially understand what they are going through.
“We are in a new world with new warfare. One hundred years ago the rules changed when the Central Powers used chemical weapons, then changed again with the emergence of nuclear weapons triggering proxy wars around the world. Now the global threat is asymmetric and we need a global alliance with new strategies, tactics and doctrines to defeat it. Standing together we can and will fight these barbaric attacks and those who use terrorism to strike fear into the hearts of many.”
